Kate Flannery is giving a Dundie for hotness to John Krasinski.
The Office alum couldn't help but gush over the fact that her former costar was named People's Sexiest Man Alive for 2024, despite some folks around the internet being less than enthused about the choice. But as she joked, the magazine "is finally catching up."
"Let me tell you something, this is so long overdue," Kate told TMZ in an interview published Nov. 13. "John Krasinski's gotten robbed every year since 2005 in my opinion. It's so time."
Especially because Kate, 60, can't get over how jacked John has gotten since The Office ended, particularly for his role as Jack Ryan.
"He is so hot, my eyes are melting every time I see him in person," she said, adding that whenever she reunites with John and his wife of 14 years Emily Blunt together, they "are so good looking, I have to squint."
As for why the public might not have considered him traditionally sexy before his new accolade, Kate has a theory.
"John has always been adorable and really cute," she explained. "But I feel like people haven't seen his sexiness because he's so cute. So it's the perfect marriage of two things."
She continued, "You see a spark in someone right away, and John's always had it. He's always had it."
As for John himself, the 45-year-old—who shares daughters Hazel, 10, and Violet, 7, with Emily—had quite the reaction when he learned he'd won the coveted title.
"Just immediate blackout, actually. Zero thoughts," he said to People in their Nov. 12 cover story. "Other than maybe I'm being punked. That's not how I wake up, thinking, 'Is this the day that I'll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?' And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me."
Although with his new honor, John shared he might have to prove himself a bit more to Emily.
"I think it's going to make me do more household chores," he quipped. "After this comes out, she'll be like, ‘All right, that means you're going to really earn it here at home.'"
